Can I waive my participation in the Damage Protection Plan?

Yes. In all our branches, except in Paris, it is possible to waive the Damage Protection Plan options if you pay for your Communauto transactions with a credit card that offers appropriate protection (often called Collision/Loss Damage Insurance for rental vehicles).

However, make sure that the protection offered is sufficient to cover all possible damage costs. Otherwise, you will be responsible for their full value.

The option to decline the coverage offered by Communauto’s insurer is offered when you first register for the service. It is also possible to make this choice later by filling out the Damage Protection Plan Waiver online. You will find the link to this form under the Damage Protection Plan Options section on the Rates page of your branch’s website.
